Prison of Beliefs

Prison of Beliefs

A lot of my shoot inspiration comes from music, this set was no exception with influences from Father John Misty's album Pure Comedy as well as the tradition of baptism in many religious circles such as the one I grew up in.

Oh comedy, their illusions they have no choice but to believe
Their horizons that just forever recede
And how’s this for irony, their idea of being free is a prison of beliefs
That they never ever have to leave
— Pure Comedy by Father John Misty

Create a Muted Daydream Edit with Free Lightroom Preset

I created this muted edit in Photoshop using adjustment layers and thought a Lightroom preset equivalent might be nice for you all.

Download the preset here. Need help installing it? Check out this video.

How to best use this preset

1.) Apply the preset to your RAW image.

2.) Adjust the overall contrast, blacks, and whites to best fit your image.

3.) Using the brush tool paint over your subjects face, hair and body (or whatever you want the main focus to be on) then adjust the exposure and blacks up a little, while lowering the shadows a little. Now adjust the whites and highlights to your liking.

4.) Here's my result!
